    Default EDC16 no power

    Hi guys

got this one in tryed to bdm it to remove DPF and connected ports the wrong way round...the 5 pin line with power on the opposite side..

Now the ecu won't power up..can't even read it with Bdm...
Anyone knows if there's a fuse that blows (within the ecu) if powered up wrong?

Biggest problem VW have non in stock and customer needs the car for holidays..

    regards

There is no fuse inside the ECU.
I saw once a car the owner connected the battery opposite ( inverted polarity ) the ecu on the car, one fuse burnt.
Car ( normally ) didn`t start. Connected battery correct, change fuse, ecu escaped well, car worked.
But with ecu on the table , no fuse, inverse mains, my opinion ecu = burnt
Hope I am wrong but you must find an ecu repair guy.

    hi

when reversing the polarity will damage the mpc and the ECU will not work.
the only cheapest and faster solution is replace the ECU with an equal.
you can find many ECU on ebay simply by writing the HW numberin search men?.

find on google or ebay the ecu with bosch HW number...the number start with 0 281 ... ...
for the electronic configuration its better to have minimum the same HW number.

different hw nr may compromise diagnosis and electronics configuration...i do not know if everything is working correctly because the hw nr is stored in each ecu on board.
I substituted ecu on two vag but always with the same nw number and everything was fine.
