Software to control win7 with IR remote

I bought a Logitech harmony 515 one-for-all remote jobby a while back for cheap, and i love it, and set it to function as a media centre remote, ( got an Ir reciever on the front of case that apparently responds to the RC6 standard Ir protocol ) but i don't wanna use the media-centre front end which seems to auto launch when ever i try and use the harmony remote to control win7... any decent software about that'll let me customise the actions of different remote buttons ? like assigning key combinations / launching apps or even macros... controlling mouse with the D-pad on the remote would be well cool.

Any of you clever lot got any pointers ?
