Register, pay the $250 and wait the 4 months, then ask yourself this..... if someone asks if they can use my number will I give them it? Read the T&C's you will find I'm sure, that sharing of your number if caught comes with a very big fine and jail sentence
Check out The Number 1 Resource for all Automotive Software with a lot of patience you like me will find what you need...

You have to do that in every state. It's all about the Immo system. As a Auto tech i could care less about making a key but some cars you need immo access to replace an ecm. All the locksmith does is clone keys anyway. You can't go to the locksmith and ask him to make you a key if you lost all of them since they don't posses a factory scantool to do it. I have tried to tell the NASFT that point but the locksmith association won't let you. I also told them the immo system don't stop car thief since they just tow away the car . The point is that is one more thing the dealer is doing to make sure the car only go to the dealer.

Funny, I can program Keys to any car in NJ

I'm not a locksmith. Ill never pay a fee of any kind and yes, it's a commercial business.

Tell the locksmith association to kiss my ass.

Are you using factory scan tools? I know for a fact SPX won't sell the Type A card unless you go thru the registration bull sh*t. VW won't give you a Geko ID if you don't do the same. So how are you doing it?

I wrote emails to the NASF and they just ignore you on the subject. I don't need to make keys just access the immo to replace certain control modules.
