rover turbo MKC 101960 decode

In the morning i have a 1995 rover coupe turbo ecu to decode, its old style unit with DIP 93c46, instead of surface mount.

Because its dip cant remove as i usually do.

Now heres my question next to another chip there an oscillator, because im going to do this in circuit, do i link oscillator or not.

Im going to use data explorer manager to decode it. Is that ok for this old type ive used it on newer with surface mount 93c46, with success but not on this older version.

Hello,why you don't desolde the chip with hot air and read with Xprog in board ?

because the chip is Dip and covered in green goo,underneath the chip and over it, holding it down. If it was surface mount i would be able to use hot air

I remove the goo with paint thinner, hope this helps

Hello,when i do this job i use brake cleener (acetone) to clean this gum and after i use aluminium tip to put around a chip i put some flux on a chip and after i use hot air and job done (disassemble a PCB)
this chip is like bosch MP and MSA

First of all tried in circuit with xprog-m, it would read ok, but not write immo file with oscillator shorted or not, then tried with UPA and after cutting track it read and wrote here are my two files, does anyone have immo off file to check for mkc101960 to check mine, as car is far away.

bump spam, just snooping arond, only just see this thread.

Dreamal the chip off, then solder wire links on, if you have to.

Rumor going around 'any' rover one will do - search for 'dead-metrot' thread.

No m8 any rover rover dump wont do. for K series: 1.1, 1.4, and 1.6 yes.

Did T series non turbo before xmas, immo off. Different immo off file again than k series, but SCP changed dump in same places. And it worked.

T series turbo, must be working with my dump as customer not phoned moaning. Again different file from k series and T series non turbo, but again SCP changed dump in same places.

Rename the files, K-serires, T-series etc then upload to this thread.

Remember to password the files with a stupid password - to piss folks who are good members of this forum, who are in need of a file - then when folks pm you for the password - ignore them, or tell them no!!!!!!!!!
