I was looking to make an interface for an airtronic M D4 - however the protocol appears to be different for that unit

Hello,
I am thinking about building this interface.
I just installed EDiTH SW. At startup EDiTH SW asked me if I want to use a "basic" or "ISO" interface.
Am I right that the interface shown in this thread is like the "basic" one?
Is the only difference a electric isolation? Therefore I could use an USB Isolator

I made some progress . It can be easy read out/erase the codes with a swich+cap and an terminal program (hyperterminal).
Now I workin on the interface, some timing problems what i will resolve use a microcontroller.
