    daughters got a dell inspiron 1525 problem is when you turn it on everything loads ok then when you try to open a program it just freezes she has lost the recovery disc but on the bottom of the laptop it has a licence number any help would be great thanks

    my choice would be to re-install vista, or better yet, acquire yourself a copy of windows 7 and install that. do not choose the option of formatting the drive because you will lose any photos etc. stored on it. the other option will keep all your files in a file called windows old.
    if theres nothing on the hard drive that can't be replaced then, by all means, format the sh*t out of that b*tch

    Well first you have to know which Windows Vista you have , and install fresh copy of that (to find out which Vista you have you do this Start-Run-type Winver and hit Enter ) , and that will slove the problem
