Default DAS/Xentry and blocked Internet Explorer

    Hello,

on my xp-system (T23) with running DAS/Xentry 11/10 I'd like to install WISnet/EPCnet also. EWAnet is already installed but no chance to open internet explorer to put in startkey.
Which solution to by-pass the restriction pls?

    Thanks for help ...Rudi

do u mean wisnet or wis standalone? If you are installing wisnet , star utilites will not accept your key as it is done through wisnet installation process and your web browser , It is better with standalone WIS to intergrate with DAS), that is the reason why it will not accept your key in star utilities, it will only accept the key from wis standalone program.

You put your key through star utilities, not through Internet Explorer.

As I wrote WISnet! The startkeys for WISnet and EPCnet are in EWAnet. And EWAnet is opened with Internet Explorer!

    I'm sorry, I misunderstood you.

What happens when you run ewanet shortcut in startmenu?

What is exactly your error message. Normally web page opens through star browser by default and it has a restriction set upon it, which i don't know how to lift.

Do you have a internet explorer icon in your star menu, and what happens when you run it?

    Try this:

If you can, open internet explorer from start menu

paste this link into address (url) bar -> press enter to load page.

    http://localhost:9000/EWA-net

Click Favourites -> Add To Favourites -> OK

Now when you want to access ewanet in the future, run internet explorer from the start menu and run the shortcut from the favourites menu.

This is what worked for me.

The problem is the non-starting iexplorer. Nothing happens. Current browser is starbrowser and not compatible with EWAnet. EWAnet admin tool in start menu is running.

    I don't think it is a restriction.

what happens when you load internet explorer? do you get a message saying there is a restriction or does nothing happen at all?

Try to create a new user account with full admin access from star account, log on to the new account and see if it allows you to run, then you may need to repair your internet explorer installation.

Just one question: why not install wis standalone? and disregard ewanet, it will integrate with DAS and make life easier for you.

I already reinstalled iexplorer. Nothing happens when I start ie. In the past there was a program (windows start) in DAS called starsecure blocking everything.

i install das 2010.11 and can run internet explorer no problem.

It will be easier to standalone, but shame you can't install epc.

    regards,

have you tried to download different web browser like firefox and install from new admin account you just created?

No, I didn't install another browser. EWAnet only works with ie. The new account is blocked, too. I think there is a security script running in the background.

Hi I just want to give another solution, maybe it'll help you

Try to open the file from IEXPLORE directly
go to your drive Crogram files/Internet explorer/IEXPLORE

and let see...i guest the star secure only block the star browser instead of internet explorer..

I don't know! I ended all no-windows processes in task manager. There is also no activity that seems to have something to do with restriction of ie. In further DAS versions there was starsecure blocking everything.
