what I think it is a dvr file from CCTV dvr recorder that you have to convert to avi, mpeg or any other format so that you can play it on pc.

No, it doesn't. I am trying to watch avi files on the Openbox S9. It is not a problem to convert the .dvr files that it records into ts or other formats...however I haven't found anyone on several forums that have been able to watch avi's or mkv s or mpegs on this box, or convert avi's to the particular file system that it uses. It is a real shame because the box is good in other ways...shouldn't be expensive for them to enable video/avi/mkv viewing as it can already play mp3 and jpegs.

I gave up and bought a Cyclone Primus Media Player...it's great, plays all my avi's, mkv, mpegs, divx, jpegs, mp3s etc and has freed up space on my pc...recommended !
