    Absolute rubbish 2nd half...that team were there for the taking, we made them look like a championship team in the 1st half and we looked like one in the 2nd.

    We should have went for the throat. Some may say it was an away leg in a 2 legged match and 1-0 was good so defend it.......I would say bollox, lets put them to the sword while we have the chance.

    Happy enough we beat them but just dissappointed we didn't drive it home.

    As for the tackle by Johnston...refs are just too inconsistant, I don't think Kompany's was red and I don't think Johnstons was either.

    Exactly either you give them both reds for the 2 footed tackle or don't give them, Glens was worse then Kompanys for me, but he had a good game and would have been a shame if he got sent off.

    That's football. some decisions go for you and some go against. If you go in with both feet off the ground your chancing a red. Neither were bad tackles IMO.

    I would have taken a draw beofe the game, they were there for the taking and we dominated the first half but let them back in, in the second. 90 minutes away from Wembley

    THE TRUTH
    The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12

    Today's report is black and white.The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
    The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.

    Parking the bus has to be done on the rare occasion if it means winning the game, We seen Mourinho do it V Barca with Inter in last years CL Semi.

    A one nil lead away at Citys ground is a very good foothold. I think Kenny got the tactics spot on, like Stevie said sometimes you have to do it the ugly way.

    Oh and i won ?30 on Gerrard goal

    Yeah could be seen as worse Zee but the frustrating part is what is exactly Red and why do refs differ in their opinion. Was it dangerous...absolutely not and neither was Kompanys, as Lee Dixon said...are they trying to stop you winning a tackle nowdays. Dangerous tackles MUST be stopped, tackles that win the ball and are not dangerous MUST be allowed.

    Good on your win....

    As for playing ugly, I would prefer barca tactics to Real or Inter, when you have them on the run...drive forward and put it beyond doubt.

    Jose tactics are fekkin negative and always have been, I don't want that for us.

    If it was 2nd leg it may have been acceptable, but 1st leg and totally in control of the game...sorry but toooooooooooo negative for me.

    Just my opinion...I only wanted us to put it to bed so Bully could book his tickets and hotel for the final.............

    The refs bring all this agro on themselves with the inconsistent decisions they make.

    I agree with you pilla about having to win games ugly sometimes, but for me City were there for the taking, we never gave Gerrard nor Bellamy enough of the ball in the 2nd and Carroll doesn't like holding the ball up for some reason and at times looks like hes got 2 left feet which he would actually love if he did so lets say 2 right feet

    End of the day two feet tackles should be outlawed and he was off the ground so he should have been sent off.
    You wouldnt then be comparing the tamer tackle made by Kompany in my honest opinion.

    Andy.

    Ryan

    Ryan Babel tonight tweeted what he first claimed were Patrice Evra and Wayne Rooney Blackberry BBM#s.

    Ryan tweeted the following:

    @RyanBabel : Patrick Evra on BBm 2195E10D ???

    @RyanBabel : RT @rrrodje: 26F1F8A1 Wayne Rooney

    Later on he did reveal that both of the BBMs were not of the Manchester United football players but of people who had abused him. Of course by then it was probably too late as the ones who had abused Ryan probably got their share of abuse.

    Ryan is currently playing for Bundesliga outfit Hoffenheim and is out of the reach of the FA who fined him last year for tweeting a picture of Howard Webb wearing a Manchester United shirt.

    at 7.30pm I'd have taken 0-1 to us, however I think that by sitting back we could pay big time. City were utter shite and if we'd gone for it, as said above, we'd have come away with 2 or even 3 there..

    never been a fan of parking the bus, i think we have more quality than that, I could understand if we'd been battered by City and just nicked a goal but when we scored we were well on top, tactical bad decision for me that.

    I doubt City would have scored now, even with us off the pitch, no way they'd have hit us on the break if we'd really gone for it.

    Only real saving grace is 48hrs after their final whistle against Spurs they'll be getting changed for the 2nd leg

    I found the commentary quite drab n boring was about to nod off especially in the 2nd half. Best bit for me was Ballotelli's reaction to Adam's pat on the head

    The difference between Kompanys Red Card and Johnsons tackle was that Rooney was not the ref!!!
