Default Nissan Micra 2003 error P0340

    Nissan Micra 2003 error P0340

Hi, I got 2 cars with same problem P0340 Camshaft position (CMP) sensor
Car starts until I get error, after that I need to clear error to start car Or need to disconnect CRANKSHAFT (not camshaft) sensor, start car , then connect it back.
Tried to change camshaft sensor, but the same.... wiring should be ok, because engine stops if I disconnect camshaft when disconnected crankshaft...
    Any idea ???

Timing chains stretch, best way of checking is to remove the rocker cover and look at the tensioner if it sticks out more than 10mm the hins no good they normaly stick out about 15mm when playing up like you have.

situations like these you have to try using a labscope to monitor the cam signals .

try to match it to crank sensor and see if it has too much play between signals. it could be a chain problem.

Change oil and oil filter and check for improvements, if nothing changes then check the chaine. How many km/miles have the vehicles in question?
