Default BMW M3 Evo EWS disable/pair

    Hi,

I bought a crash damaged '96 M3 3.2 EVO to transplant the engine into my race car. I knew the engine wasn't revving right and was throwing a crank sensor code... but the real problem is that it was plugged into a 3.0L MS43 ECU!

I've sourced (separately) an EVO ECU (MSS50) and the EWSII bits. I'm wondering if and how the EWSII can be disabled in the DME, or how it can be paired with the EWS kit.

Any help would be much appreciated! I have INPA. But I'm presuming that's not enough

    Paul

    INPA can do it.
Read ECU(DME) you want to use, look for ISN number.
Then read you cars EWS2 and program ISN number

Ok I'll try that thanks. I need to double check my wiring first!

Remembered I said I'd let you know!

Got it to work. EWS needs to be FULLY wired with chip presented to antenna for INPA to even see it properly for coding... but once it is it codes a treat

    Cheers!
