    Ah, but the asus has got a usb port on it, so you can connect external storage, printers or scanners. I've got both a wrt54gs and a wl500g (the old version with small flash and slower processor), and while the wrt is probably a better router, the asus is definitely useful. I had it set up as a combined NAS and wireless bridge. It's great what you can do with custom firmware (in my case OpenWRT). I got it from ebay for around ?15, so it works out about half the price of a 'proper' wireless bridge, and is SO much better.

    @the OP: Since this thread is a bit old, you've probably got your router by now, but I'd definitely have recommend you get one supported by third party firmware.
