I have a powergate R.
Can this be "modded" to become a power gate M??

Powergate S yes for sure.R model i don't really know.I think yes maybe.Others members of DK perhaps tell us like @Ipejanisovic.

Any PWG can be turned into full M.

I spoke to soon . Yet another hacked powergate stuck and cannot be erased to load a new protocol . I'm starting to think the hacked , cloned tools are not worth it . No support etc , etc ,

Promoto up to 3.87 is ok but there are connection problems with mitsubushi ecu . It will only write some of the ecu,s . Once the write fails its bricked .

But what other connection problems and errors could there be . It seems I'm the only one testing it in bikes and its now costing myself money. Hopefully the powergate can be reflashed again to working condition ?

Maybe the guys who ate hacking the units would keep recovering them for free then ill test everything and find what works and what doesn't. This way I help community .

Me i work on software 3.86 with powergateII M.For other things i let work my supplier...

For hacked devices, 3.86 is latest stable version. With newer, strange things occurs like can't erase fw or wrong checksum etc...

where did you bought your powergate?

go to version 3.86 and if you can not erase the pwg on this version then your version is bricked.

i don't know from who you have had bought your tool but your supplier should notify you about it how to use safe your powergate, if you have updated it on your own hand then this is another thing...

The person sell it to me and tell me to work only in 3.86,because it its a good seller
I think at this price the seller MUST tell you what is to work or not !
To mod this tool i let expert do the job.
