P1601 is an internal control module error which may be wiring, transmission or transmission control module related
    P1601 - ECM/TCM Serial Communication Err
p1601 stands for engine control module(ecm)transmission control unit(tcm)-serial peripheral comminication

apparently the plate on the cranckshaft were fitted incorrectly. the speed sensor were picking the tdc mark up at the wrong time. once the ring were fitted correctly, the vehicle started. but it had some other issues aswell. but it started. thanks.
