    Default DM500S SCAN PROBLEM

    Couldn't open servicefile- create
    var/tuxbox/config/enigma!

    This message keeps poping up when im trying to scan ive seen a few posts saying do a factory re set im totally new to all this if i do a factory reset usually in most cases isnt that deleting everything? like i said im a total noob!...

    I bought the box and did not set it up myself it wasnt working today the images wasnt loading the background was black i updated it via expert setup/update once i did this i tried my mulit transponder scan and this message keeps coming up please help

    Does the box have any valuable settings from when you bought it?,,,, you can always flash it again if it goes to the wall. Though I'm pretty sure a factory reset only deletes some settings .. it doesn't blank out the entire image on the box, so try a factory reset first. If still wont scan then try flashing it(you can reflash the same image or try a different one) using a ethernet cable or a null modem cable

    I've had this error before in the past on my cable DM500 but never really annoyed me because I was only really searching for updated freqs and only some chnls were missiing.. but after a reflash it was ok to scan(my error use to come up after the scan finished and disregarded the scan)
