Default My feedback on installing DAS Xentry 09 2010

    All,
I've finally managed to install DAS Xentry on my T30 and thought it would be useful to share my experience as it may help others in the future.

On my first install attempt, everything 'appeared' to have installed correctly as per the excellent video guide obtained from here.

Xentry was running fine and on selecting a pre 2009 car, Xentry would open up DAS as you'd expect. Same was true for Xentry Sim.
However, there were some areas that didn't seem right:

    1. In Xentry, on selecting MB Cars, the WIS, EPC and TIPS icon did not appear along the left hand side of the screen.
    2. DAS would not run from the desktop icon.
    3. DAS sim would not run from Start, Programs, etc.

There may have been other issues but these are what I noticed.

Tried to re-install on a freshly formatted HDD but exactly the same thing happened.

Now here's what I beleive the problem is. When I begin the DAS installation (Stardaig\setup.exe) it DOESN'T ask me for the language selection. It then goes on to say that entire installation will take 79 mins.
But on the video, you can see that setup asks for a language selection and that the installation will take 150 mins.
(So clearly, my 79 min installation was missing things out)

The way I found to resolve this was to do the following:

Re-format and freshly install WinXP with all Windows updates.
Go through all the processes as per the video guide as normal.
Then, start the install procees as normal but when the setup program says install will take 79 mins, choose to exit the installation.
Then simply re-start the installation (stardiag\setup.exe) and this time it should ask for language selection and then go on to say 150 mins install time.
Then proceed as per the video guide and all should work fine.

I don't know why I had to do it this way, or if this is a known fault that you guys already know about or what. But I couldn't find any answers as to why it only said 79 mins install time etc.

If there's already a solution to this situation please let me know.
Otherwise, this post might prove useful to others.

Feel free to ask any questions and I'll be happy to answer.

    Thanks,
    shr.

I've just done another fresh install but with a different disc (still 09 2010) and got exactly the same thing happen. (Doesn't ask for language on inital run of setup).

So it has got to be something to do with Windows XP I think.
Do you guys install DAS on WinXP service pack 2 or 3?

The zolookas guide pre install change the language code to 09. So maybe better change to the code of your lange f. e. 07 and restart pc. Than start setup and exit again and restart like your procedure and select language. I like your way to change language. i
