Maybe they damaged the wiring during the inspection or disconnected a connector?

french, cure on fault, gain another.

we had a laguna in once, abs, some dumb~~~~ had subframe off, and trapped wire, but needed a telescope to see that it was trapped.

there is a common fault on clio abs, check bbareman.chunts

have you tried a 'high speed' had a shitty crysler in, short story was, 'new' sensor (didnt tell punter was a used one), light on live data said yes, give it large, went out.

I prefer to connect one cabel from abs ecu connector to example ohm meter and other to sensorside and look at display while twisting, bending, pulling.....

Best is when draw little and ohm dropps and drag like hell and you got the cable in 2 pieces.

you might wanna connect your DMM or scope to the unplugged sensor to know wether there is actually any sensor output or not when wheel is spinned . So you would know if you got a faulty (even new) sensor or if it's a wiring/controler issue further upwards.
Yesterday we stood in front of the abyss. Today we'll move ahead.

If you need any repair manual, pm me- maybe I can help you.

    OFF TOPIC:-

Late VW, Ford, Crysler the abs sensors are powered by 12 volts and talk back via the power supply - (super imposed) - the sensors are 10000000% OPEN CIRCUIT untill powered - too last to use an ampmeter to test.

    ON TOPIC:-

Sounds like abs modulater is ~~~~ed, like Rough-ash1111111969999999 said
does it said 'mechanical fault' or 'open circuit'

try another scanner, as you have a Snap-Off pile of poo.

As this is a Clio 2 i supposed that it's just a simple inductance sensor and not a hall effect thing or something similar. You can tell by the number of wires wether its inductive or not. IF it's inductive it might be worth to check the sensor itself directly.

    PARTLY OFF TOPIC:-

They still have two wires, pure 12 volt neg and pos (to naked eye)
one pin on sensor is marked +

    ON TOPIC:-

Have you tried unplugging the opposite side sensor, as you have a Sanp-Off tool, it's French, unplug opposite sensor see if it clams other wheel has been stolen.
