    Default Ford focus error P1608 WATCHDOG MALFUNCTION

    Hi, I got car FORD Focus 1999 , 1.8 diesel.... with error :
    Fault code Description
    P1608 WATCHDOG MALFUNCTION
    Car cranks but not stars, and I cant find info what does it means, and where could be problem

    The Watchdog is an internal hardware function that checks if the software is stil alive.
    This means either the software is damaged or the watchdog (hardware) doesn't function (properly).
    Try to reflash the software and if the problem stays it will mean a new ecu.

    check the engine control relay is powering the diesel pump

    do you have a garage?
    the reason for my question is that you probably didnt
    lock the car the night before
    so if you try to lock and then unlock the car with the remote and after try to start it might work
    because in the earlier meganes that happens a lot.
