port forwarding

hi
i have 2 routers connected together i can successfully port forward with the main router which is downstairs a o2 router set up with a static ip address so all good their ip does not change.


now the second router upstairs is connected to a cable belkin router works perfect
but after a month the ip changes and my server goes offline as Th ip changes on this router how could i configure it so it don't change.

here are settings on belking router
WAN MAC address
00:00:00:f4:0f:b5
Connection Type
Dynamic
Subnet mask
255.255.255.0
Wan IP
192.168.1.64
Default gateway
192.168.1.254
DNS Address
192.168.1.254

how do i change it to static ip so dhcp dont assign a diffrent ip adress everytime.

mate. i am with o2 as well i have the same problem. you have be on the third plan to have static ip look on the website carefully. or pay some extra money to have a static ip see website.

Could you not disable the DHCP option on your second router so it does not issue any ip changes even if your ISP's address changes?

It is not entirely clear in your post, but the way i read it is your O2 router is connected to the internet, but your Belkin router is not, it is only connected to the O2 router and some devices upstairs. If this is the case then what you want to do is put a reservation in the O2 routers DHCP setup giving it the Belkin routers MAC address and tell it to assign 192.168.1.64 as an IP address. Of course i could of completely misunderstood what you want to do, in which case i am talking rubbish.

How about configure a Dynamic DNS like DNSEXIT.com
if there's any changes in IP Address you have a dynamic domain name!
