Yes as long as your Interface is of GOOD QUALITY............. Also make sure when updating the Firmware the vehicle battery is fully charged or keep the engine running..........

I personally keep engine running.................

Upon reading up on it
I believe the firmware has been erased from the 29F800 chip.
I did ask the suppliers who supplied it to send me a new chip but they refuse they say I need to send it back at my cost. Really not worth doing.
I havent a suitable programmer to reflash the said chip I only have the UPA.

I still believe that it only needs re-flowing. I've had one with same problem and that's how was fixed. After re-flow autocom interface should be found on usb ports. Then you can update firmware. You can try m8 there's nothing to lose.

Are you saying your computer coudn`t find the autocom and thats why you refowed?
My autocom is found fine by the pc via USB it just doesnt finish the update after its connected.

I've had both situations. You can still re-flow boards and hopefully would fix your firmware problem. After re-flowing firmware upgrading worked OK.

in your opinion wich from the clones one have the improved hw?want to buy one and there are just to many versions,you can no longer look through.

My advice for you it to buy from a seller from your city.He had test the interface, and offer warranty.If appear problems you can meet with him and explain him the problem.But the cost will be biger with some $$$

Hello, the Autocom is a good interface for both cars and trucks diagnose, I've used it and it went very well especially from European brands, Volvo, Peugeot, Renault.

I tried it on Iveco Stralis & 2 Autocargo 2005 & 2008 but cant connect!
did you make any fix or can post a quality pic of yours ?

Autocom is a very good interface for this money.How you pay, like that will work.But is better like others.
For example i write 2 key on VW Sharan after i had extract the Pin with another tool.
And on Skoda Superb who have problems with key lock driver door, i have adaptate remote control in 5seconds.

In my contry(Romania) we have a talk:
" Vrei si cu pula in cur si cu sufletul in rai"
That means:
"You wont **** in ass and soul into heaven".

i have some problem with autocom 2011.1.
autocom not work anymore,i try to reinstall software,try on different laptops same result:
try to connect to car no communication,so i go to settings to do hardware setup and here then i try to look for com port(automatic or manual search),i see no communication+firmware not loaded and another table with***incorrect firmware version,please update your firmware***i try to do updates(connect to car wait around 5 min.) and all process was OK,but when try again to locate com port again same story...divers looks Ok,computer recognize autocom(vci device found),but something missing...............maybe,anyone have same problems?i check all connections,soldering, maybe problem in 29f800.......here my file of this chip....any ideas?

if the problem remains, try connect via BT. Perhaps your FDTI chip has colapse or bad soldering
