It could also be one of other 2 chips at the left of the pcb in your picture
    What do you mean?

    Check? I dont know

Why? 9241 were discontinued many years ago so they reprint them to make interface look like genuine V3 with the same functionality
1st they used lm393 and reprinted as 9241 but interface had no full functionality
Now they are using l9637 and interface is finally working good

Some people reported u702, u705 or other chip was damaged
But I 1st would try buying 2x L9637 and replace them, they are cheap

Look the erased and reprinted L9637 as 9241 in my interface
Yours look like old reprinted LM393
I would install new L9637 to be sure they didnt install lm393 instead

Buy L9637 iso9141 chips in local Store
Otherwise here: (they lack STMicroelectronics logo, maybe it was just deleted in picture, you will not know if they are blank or relabeled or sanded or fake or reprinted or remarked... Although they will probably work)

Thank you for your much help. I'll examine my chips by microscope - I'm curious already
I try to buy L9637 locally as you suggested.

I will inform you all ;-)

here is when somenone discovered about L9637 (use translator):
    https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/to....html#17846600

and here is where someone discovered chinese installed fake MC33399 instead of L9637 (use translator):
    https://carmasters.org/topic/1095-%D...comment-483194

i think this may be your problem

and here i think is how somenone solved (use translator):
    https://carmasters.org/topic/1095-%D...comment-503719

Here It says all those modifications worked, besides resoldering a chip:
    https://carmasters.org/topic/1095-%D...comment-504072

i think these forum members also made additional board with L9637 for KL (use translator):

This one came from new V3:

    S20200711_0003.jpg

And this one is from the good-old golden case:

    S20200711_0002.jpg

Which one is real and which one is fake?

Tried the original ones in new PCB, worse than ever. I will buy new L9637 from local store and give a try

The one in V3 is NOT 9241a, interface designed for other chip
The old one in golden interface is 9241a for sure, those years were still in production
If new L9637 not working, It could be any other chip, thats the problem, 74HC or any other...
Be sure diodes are not 5v zeners (but 15v/30v for cars/trucks protection), only switching diodes, or just remove them and try to connect

Without zeners it doesn't work either.
New ic's (L9637 and TJA1050) and some resistors, zeners and capacitors - that were advised on the russian site - arrived some days ago, I'll try them in the weekend in my V3. I hope it will work, I will report.

Maybe replacing L9637 is enough, not all those capacitors, zeners,resistors...
Here he finished all the modifications and also resoldered a chip, it seems he succeded:

    Hi, All,

still having problem with my Autocom and my old Merc.

So I have this type of Autocom/Delphi

    https://img.bidorbuy.co.za/image/upl...9352073352.jpg

I can connect to my Merc W210 ECU, but only on bench! Directly from the scanner to the ecu's K-Line, without the 38pin converter. But if I wanna connect to my car, no communication at all.

Autocom wants to communicate through OBD connector's #7 pin. That's clear.
My 38pin converter's (I have three, with same and proper pinout, they were used properly with my previous Autocom) OBD side #7 pin is connected to 38pin side connector #19 pin. That's the problem because ECU's pin is #4 in car, in 38pin socket.
In the converter cable #4 (/38) is #1 (OBD). So there must be a pin/connector "map" that switch the relays in Autocom itself and this "map" must be faulty.

So... How can I tell to Autocom to use the correct pin???
