    Default Flashing Samsung GT-S5560

Hopefully one of you phone guru's can help me.

I want to upgrade my firmware to a much newer version. I've got all the files and multiloader 5.65. There are a bunch of ffs files, FactoryFs_S5560_Open_Europe_Common.ffs, _france, _germany, _uk etc.......One tutorial I read said to load the common ffs, but will this install all the languages? Can I just load the UK one and only have UK english?

I don't want to brick this phone so any help is appreciated.

it will load all the languages and dependant on the firmware which one will be the main, my advice is go to settings and see how to change the language bottom right button then>settings>scrol to letter Aa mine was flashed in german.

i have flashed many galaxys dont worry if it dont work or phone bricks as you just simply pull battery and set in download mode and reflash

bricking the phone isnt an issue as its just the boot file so worst way pick another flash i use odin

OK, no brick for me! Worked no prob, and default was english.

I have flashed phones before, I have put custom ROM's in my old Razr V3 and even made custom ROM's for my Treo 650 but there was lots of info. Not so much for this phone so was just a little worried.

    Thanks again!

    good

what was the file name the numbers and letters? seeing as in english il make a note of it.

as long as you did a reset on phone to get rid of any rubbish that could have been in the download like personal apps etc. then it will run faster as you would have lost some start up programs.

i run 2.2 froyo on my galaxy i didnt like the layout of the latest ones after flashing.

all samsungs will flash like this as long as you have the files, some will load as individual files like you did on multi loader and some will just load as 1package. i prefer the multi package.

The file is S5560XXJL1, which I got from samfirmware.com. There were 2 newer ones listed but have been removed from hotfile. I have been searching the net for days trying to find S5560XXKC2 but it's just not available anymore.

Unfortunately this phone does not run Android, not sure what's on it.

The xx in the file name denotes uk release, the next two letters should refer to the month & year of the release. There's info on this on the samfirmware site.

Odin is used for android phones, multi loader for the majority of samsung phones (except bada & limo). There's also a symbian flashing tool for the likes of the I8910 Omnia HD.
