Ipod2g downgrade from 4.2.1 > 3.x

Is there a way to downgrade an ipod 2g / MB model back to version 3?

I don't have blobs.

Only reason for doing this is I can't use roqybt4 for external gps and it doesn't look like it will be patched anytime soon.
