for both it's better to read eeproms from ecu's and send dumps, you can get PIN's and make adaptations with vag com

Maybe You can give more details next time(engine, tools what You have). But I think You can try for passat PIN can be: 6002 and for a4 7991. Remember to put 0 before when You make keys with VCDS.
