Default Mac needed for app development

Recently decided to do some homework on building iphone/pod apps... but ran straight into a brick wall.. the development tools and app kits are strictly mac only

Prob be way too much work getting all the mac magic to work on my PC so i think im gonna get me a cheap-o mac :O .. just for fiddling with iphone apps mind, ..but want the bare minimum spec i can get away with, to avoid wasting cash.

Anyone got an old-relic mac gathering dust they're looking to get rid of ? cheep-cheep ?

Or any ideas to use the SDK on PC without having to run the whole mac OS ?

Because I care... for the grand that the base iMac costs, you could build a monster PC, leagues above the iMac.. so what you paying for ? software ? I've still got a core2quad in my current rig i bought 5 year ago, new mobo, better ram, added RAID, added another GFX card...... do that to your mac in two years... or not...

if i had the cash i might splash out for one to sit alongside me PC, but as a replacement ? No more hard drugs for this man.

    Dell_im.ac..ok

you could have this as an avatar, but i'm guessing there's thousands of people using this exact same pic...

you could write a imac customisation thread dell ! Explaining how to change the wallpaper and mouse-pointer.
