Well my situation is like this. I have a Blackbox 500 on a motorised setup & can get FTA from 28.2E just fine. I then started experimenting to try to get more out of it but am finding it hard to do anything meaningful. I've hit a wall and have got no futher than my nose, so much reading snippets here & there and I've now blanked out!

If you guys could give me some elementary pointers I sure would appreciate it (even if its just to bin it all & get a life ha-ha).

I bought a second-hand standard box c/w white card from ebay ages ago. I flashed my Blackbox with OpenPLi DM500 image along with CCcam 2.2.1 and oscam_1.00 and tried using the white card with it. I have googled cs and havent got any further, just more confused.

The white card subscription has now run out. Should I throw it away now, ie pointless keeping it anymore?
Do I actually need oscam in my circumstances?
As a novice can anyone recommend any particular place to look for cs? I appreciate it doesn't make good vibes to pay a server but I've no idea how to setup myself up so I can contribute equally with someone I haven't even found yet!

Soz if this is a bit naff Q's, got desperate when I don't seem to even understand the fundamentals now...

A nudge in the right direction much needed perhaps? Fully appreciate no cs help will be available (and not asked for, just need to understand some basics don't I)?
