    Default eeprom 93c66 & 93c86

Hi, somebody can tell me if the 93c66 & 93c86 they use the same address? can I read c66 and write in c86? I know that the difference is in byte but I need to know if they use the same address

    93c46 - a 128 byte eeprom

    93c66 - a 512 byte eeprom (and 93c56 - a 256 byte eeprom)

    93c86 - a 2048 byte eeprom (and 93c76 - a 1024 byte eeprom)

    Thank you

Didn't remember much the datasheets for these eeproms so can't tell exactly. Only remember that these microwire chip can be devided into two groups, c46, c56 & c66 and c76 & c86. The chip in the same group can be replaced with the one bigger if need but can't be across the groups.

Test by writing c66-size dump on c86 chip of its own menu then read back by c66 menu. Hope this help a bit.

93C46 not the same reading to 93C56 menu

93C56 = The same reading with menu 93C66 but only half in size(it can read/write vice versa)

93C76 = 93C86 = The same reading with menu 93C86 but also half in size(it can read/write vice versa)

I would say: Don't play with that.. They may have same address tho.. but it's not necessary to find out... i guess..

ok, I tried to write dump from c66 to c86 and it doesn't work. My problem is that I changed instrument cluster in Freightliner M2-106 (medium heavy duty truck) and I can't correct the mileage beacause the old cluster use c66 and the new one use c86 so I can't read the dump from old eeprom and write in new one. Maybe somebody of you knows where is the mileage address in hex? the original mileage is 503024km
    thank you
