hi all a newbie here can you please educate me and tell me what a crossover cable is as i said im a newbie

A crossover cable is just a network cable that has twisted pairs of wires instead of straight wires going into the jack plug, these are used for connecting 2 devices so they can talk to each other.

You can get them on Ebay for about ?1 plus p&p.

you need a crossover cable to have your DB attached straight to your comp. You can have a normal patch cable if you are using a router

i just disconnect my xbox or ps3 and use that cable for any patching etc
im also going through a router
