Default My hp zv6000 keyboard and touchpad doesnt work

working on a m8s laptop yesterday, hpv6000, installed a few bits of software and all was working fine, rebooted the lappy a number of times and all looked good, on a final reboot before I gave him it back, the keyboard and touchpad stopped working. They work before windows xp boots, I can get into the bios etc, but thats it, tried safe mode and last known cngif still no luck. Tried a usb keyboard and mouse which are recognised but need drivers installed, as Ive no controls I cannot give permission to install! Anyone offer any advice please!

Yes they did, I have reformatted the drive and done a clean install, all working again but a complete pain in the arse.
