    Default two at the same time

    i wish to install win7 on my computer along with my present os xp can i install win7 on another empty hd in my computer microsoft sugests a external hd to save data i thought if i installed win7 on spare hd it would be fine without any loss of xp data can i cheers

    think you can run them both with oracle virtualbox. i think that is free aswell unlike vmware which i think you need to pay for

    a thought about virtual but because i have free hd space i could use that wetdog you should get out more

    Why not install Windows 7 and then the XP VM machine that is downloadable from MS? Either that or VMWare server. There are some utilities out there to clone from real to virtual so you don't lose anything.

    To have both programs on the computer is called dual boot - Install the spare drive in your computer and select that drive when your installing Win 7 - download a program called bootloader from the internet run the program and when your computer is starting you will be able to select the program you want to run.
