    Default acer computers..........NOT

i have a small issue with this lappy, so i googled acer, got their phone numbers and dialled on.
got through to a guy named shane, gave me his acer id number and asked what ther problem was. tolsd him. he said no problems we can remotely fix this and we set up a remote connection. he also took my landline number. telephone converstaion terminated and the chap set about my machine, i wayched a little tv and took a peek, stuff going on, great.
10 mins later phone call from acer saying machinen was full of errors etc and it needed a little more work, after 2 mins of talking to this guy it was clear to me it wasnt acer and i terminated the call and connection.

    what do i do now?
whats this guy taken, can he get back in etc

cant believe i got turned over like this, im usaully cynical as ~~~~, but i rang them and got the numbers from google.

i ghave spokje to acer and they dont give a flying ~~~~.

    mick.

    Got that right mate.

Restart your router, change username and password to it. To do this type IP address in to your browser.

Heard that Cable broadband i.e. VMedia wont change IP on restart.

A bit low think your the one behaving like a plonker.

Wetdog clearly made a mistake we all do from time to time.

Why even bother posting if you dont have any useful advice for him. Digital Kaos is about helping each other on all topics clearly you dont know the meaning of the word!

    ------------

Sorry to hear that Wetdog get on to your bank ASAP mate and as mentioned restart your router hopefully get a different IP and change router login details.

Hope they never had enough time to do what they intended.

If you use online banking, report it. Never give remote access to anything unless you trust the person.

Can i have the phone number mick please

oh dear oh dear, seek and speak to the geeks on here. acer, dell, pc world etc and even most little computer shops will tell you your computer's more buggered than you think/it actually is because all they want is your money. bish bash bosh, thanks for your dosh.
Don't bother with them, always seek the geeks first.
Not me though cuz I'm a goon

Contact your bank (I may be tempted to transfer all money to another account)
    change passwords
    change ip address even.

If it was me, i'ld even go as far as formatting the machine and reinstalling windows (this is not an advertisement. There are other operating systems available).

aaah, this is one of the multiple reasons why i dislike lappys

Have you tried a driver update for your touchpad?
if you're lucky, it may be just a driver issue.

worst case scenario is needing new parts. if so..... f**k it in the cut and get yourself a nice new desktop
