Hy and sorry for my noob question :
Can we recode the units with this?
My friend have a Q7 2007 and he changed the bord the motor engine and I will change the ECU and wonder what is better to recode the ECU.
VAS 5054A(if we can) or RossTech.
And some one will be kind to explain the procedure? Do I need a code to reprogram it ?
I need to reprogram the serial number, the kilometers ect or what will be the steps?

when you bring a used ecu. it was programmed. so you have to read the eprom dump and find the pin code.

know you have two pin code: pin of the used ecu and immo code of the car.

in vas software you can reset used ecu but vas need his pin code. after you adapt it whith immo code of the car

Default Vas 5054 not support all cars

    regards to all
not true that you support all the 5054 car, depends on the vehicle and the protocol, if the vehicle has a UDS protocol can not do a diagnostic(eg. A4 2009 ch 8K not support)
it is important to tell how old diagnostic haead.
