Im afraid that it's not possible to get any one of them as new. 1J35D is MC68HC08AZ60, missing '9' in front of 08... means that they are of the ROM type and much possible that of a custom order to and ROM customly programmed by Motorola. But I am certain that 2J74Y can replace 1J35D if it's programmed properly.

Of course eeprom is a must, and cloning Flash in 2J74Y to ROM in 1J35D. But your problem might be on the quality of 2J74Y itself

my 2j74y is very good
i have repair many ezs but never with 1j35d
etl just read eeprom no rom....
