First of all, thanks for sharring your stuff!
Now, I have 2 cables with Hd2 and I tried your dumps: interface test was ok, as you posted earlier, but did you test it on the car?

It is necessary a new ept file for RL? I use old ept that works with 14.10.0 .

I tried with a Fabia 2007 and I received several comunication errors: autoscan, each module, mass. blocks etc. it works to some point and than it crash.

So, I use xtremeburner fusebits
CD DC F9 CC, installed 16.8.0, copied cracked.exe in installation folder, delete main shortcut from the desktop and launch programm using cracked.exe .
I did something wrong?

CHINA tools used FTDI with VID/PID 0403/FA30 too
You can change the FA24 ept in FA30 by yourself
If you wanna waist your time
You did All correct till now

I tried HW1 RL tool with vid pid FA20 and have same situation, with FA24 test doesn't want to work, maybe I should try BL tool with FA20?

I think cracked.exe file is not that "perfect" to make things work as should. Probablly @kolimer needs more time the make some changes for that dump to work with 16.8.0 . , if it is his work, otherwise he shares what he got without test it and this is it...

I tested All
Ft232 Rl with FA24 and FA30
FT232BL with FA20
I tried both firmware version shared for each
I Also tried woth original firmware 256b wirds and 512b words
Non of item ia working
I think you are waisting your time.
I think the problem.is the loader utself and/or the firmwares which are not the original one used in Genuine tools

Mate in your case MFT version you are using a loader because the serial its blacklisted and when younare using the original exe file your tool will show you unregistred.
If a tool it has the rght serial not blacklisted then its doesn't matter if it is with BL/BM ( old style ) or RL/RQ ( nrw style)
To flash the tool
- flash with MProg the FTDI using ept for BL/BM ( vid/pid 0403/FA20 )
- Connect your AVR Programmer to Atmega ISP pins ( MiSO/MOSI/SCK/RESET) and GND
- Power the circuit ( VCDS ) with 12V ( from car if you wish ) on OBD pins (16 for +12v and 4-5 for GND )
Use the eeprom that you have and fuse bits CD/DC/F9/CC or FF
Tthis is it
Well I forgot if you have STC in circuit as you said you need to insolder the STC and the other two components

Hello,

The 16.8 cracked software still crashes (comm error). The 12.12 and the 11.11.5 sw say license not found. I used the 0403 FA20 config and Flash1.96_HW1.bin and the eeprom (HEX 2011/03/01 12h19:58). My cable consists ATMEGA162, GAL, 93c46, FT232BL na no ST. The cable worked fine with 1.84fw. I used ponyprog for programming ATMEGA, using the attached fuse settings. ATMEGA is connected to the GAL.

The license is okay with the 1.96Fw. I think the cracked .exe is not working properly.

As i know, 15.7.0 and 16.8.0 CHN with STC use FA24.
15.7.0 has in my hand, saw eeprom, extracted vcds.exe for use without "stc protection'.
Worked ok. But with proper eeprom, not tried to "whitening" an old blacked serial.
Probably is the same in 16.8.0 EN CHN STC. Haven't yet one.

But..like more others CHN versions...

Just to say that it was a long but really exciting reading ...
Since my cable is still functional I will not venture to modify it for now but knows one never afterwards ???

Hello, I have the original VCDs, it burned down FT232RQ. I it desolder, but the test does not pass. I applied for help in Ross-Tech, but they did not offer me a solution. Send USA repair HW is not variant. The program shows:

NotTested.jpg
What am I doing wrong? Help my Pleas.

FTDI is a part of protection in VCDS
You damage it you need one with same Id.
But the Id is uniq snd tge rste to buy one with same ID its higher then to win in lottery
Tgis mean th the dump in the MCU Atmega is marriaged with the ID of the defective FTDI.
You did two bad steps
1. You open the case
2. You change tge FTDI by yourself
Ross-tech warranty is out in this case but they are the only one who can help you in this moment. No one can do it.
At leaxt if you want that tool to be a genuine one from now on.
