Help with Zafira Z16XE fault codes

My friend has a Zafira with the Z16XE engine. The engine management light came on but it has no noticable problems when driving. I got the following codes off it from opcom but they won't clear.

Total number of fault codes: 7

P0300 - Misfire Detected at Low Fuel Level
(0B) - Not present

P0304 - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected
(00) - Not present

P0351 - Ignition 1 Control Circuit
(00) - Not present

P0352 - Ignition 2 Control Circuit
(00) - Not present

P0353 - Ignition 3 Control Circuit
(00) - Not present

P0354 - Ignition 4 Control Circuit
(00) - Not present

P0420 - Catalyst System Low Efficiency
(00) - Present

Anyone got any ideas?

What version of opcom are you using? I had same problem of not being able to clear the codes and I downgraded opcom to 09714 and then it worked.

Last fault code is the right one. Just clear them all and see what's coming back.
If only P0420 then it's worth to get car for good run on the motorway. If this doesn't help then needs new CAT( catalyst converter).

I must be having opcom trouble then, it's always cleared codes before so i'll reinstall the drivers and try again.

Reinstall op-com and clear codes. prob P0420 will come back after a short while and you'll gonna need to change the catalytic converter. You could check converter with IR-thermometer.

The temperature test:
For this test requires a digital pyrometer. Drive your car with an increased number of rotations per minute for about 2 minutes (about 2,000 rpm), to ensure that the catalyst has enough time to activate. Now, you examine the temperature of the test head of the pyrometer on the front of the catalyst and then the back. The temperature at the back should be higher than the front, if the opposite is the case, the catalyst did not work properly.

Good morning my friend ... Is the car before recording the damage had BODY; there a earthing over the chassis is not in position; Search and this possibility and do not you hear the diagnostic

On a proper workin systen the outlet temp will be some ~ 50 degrees celsius higher than on inlet. If inlet temp is higher than the catalyst doesn't work anymore. If in/out temps are the same then the converter is clogged.

Is this cat a genuine one ? Asking this cause many owners use to mont that shity universal cat who are not good but cheap at 20-25% like original one

Hi

P0420 code is not always faulty cat it could also be your lambda Sensor faulty............the other word I could say a Lazy Lambda Sensor..........So the best way is to monitor your rear lambda as well before condemning your Cat............

THATS AN COOL LINK THERE, THE FIRST EMERICAN BLOKE MADE HIM SELF LOOK FOOLSIH BY SAYING IF THE CAT IS BAD PRESSURE WILL BE 2.5 PSI - BUT IT WASN'T

THEN THE SECOND EMERICAN BLOKE - DID HE NOT READ THE FAULT CODES - EG MISFIRE, P0420 - IF HE SUSPECTED A 'PLUGGED MUFFLER' WHY NOT JUST UNBOLT IT.
