    Default Few Questions.

Hi all i've been reading threads on this forum over the last few weeks. I've ordered the dreambox 5000S and i'm due to recieve it tomorrow.

Just a few questions. I have a sky box which is set up out in the kitchen. In order to set up the dreambox is it just a case of taking the necessary wires out of the existing sky box and putting them into the dreambox?

Will the eye that I bought for my sly box work with the dreambox?

I'm a complete novice at all this so try and keep it in layman terms

hooking the satellite cable up to a standard dreambox will get you all the fta channels available on sly uk.

So basically all I need to do is take the wires out of my existing sly box and put them into the dreambox ? Sly is currently channel 9 on my tv when I put the wires into the dreambox will it still be the same Channel?

Will my existing sly magic eye work with my dreambox?

Basically is what i'm trying to say is.

My tv is mounted on the wall at one end of the room. My sky box is at the other end of the room. When I get the DB i'll just be swapping my existing sky box with the DB.

Will the DB appear on my tv if I just swap the boxes and insert wires into the DB?

no, because if your sky box is on channel 9, then i assume ur hooked up to tv with a coax cable.. via rf out? dm doesnt have rf out

but i thought the router would need to be beside the box which in turn the box would need to be beside where the existing sly box is?

Initially my router was on a table which was about 2 foot away from my tv. The sly box was at the other side of the room. I then moved the router over beside the sly box.

With the card sharing i'll be using my existing sky dish How does the DB connect to my sky dish?
