hello,i have on order an acer h5360bd 3d projector and a
ps3 160 gig.i am downloading bluray 3d mkv films for the kids.what would be the best way of showing these films through the projector. i also have a 1tb iomega screenplay plus

ps3 will not read your external hard drive as it storage size is above 4gb also will only read fat 32 and my guess yours is formatted to ntfs.this also applies to memory sticks.most 3d files come in mkv format again ps3 will not read this however there are mp4 3d file formats you could try however mp4 files can be unsuitable for good quality hd bluray 3d playback.mkv file is your best bet but like i said ps3 will not read mkv file, however there is a way around it if you hard wire your ps3 to your computer setup and access from there.however i have not tried this yet but you can give it a go.further more you might find your projector might have some sort of plug in and play ability which could save most hassle above, im afraid there,s little help out there at the moment and im trying to find my feet with this 3d malarkey myself so in short your breaking new ground . there is also 3d file type to consider ie side by side and field sequential if you have any other direct questions post them i may be able to answer them.let me know how you get on.

thanks for the reply flying.have been reading the posts on the wdtv live hub, this is all new to me so after a bit more reading up on this i might get one as it seems to handle 3d mkv files.

it works with i think all dlna devices, ive got it streaming to my sony tv and wdtv live ( via ethernet cable ) have a read on their forum, all i do with my tv and wdtv is go into menu and look for this that is the server icon, its really easy to use, and streams stuff from the internet via plugins. and as ps3 is sony it will work with that ( sony recommends serviio ) give it a go what have ya got to loose
