Default Merc A140 auto clutch system

Hi all I have a problem with a Merc A140
No start issue .. no crank but will start if you short the starter then the next issue is cant get it into gear.
I have checked the two power supplys and the ground and also the k line at the acs module all check out fine. This was the check list from DAS
The problem is I cannot communicate with this module using any scan tool ive tried a second hand module with the same result . In saying that I get coms with the other modules.
Anyone else had this problem or any guidence

The controler on the semi-auto, only controls the hydralic clutch system.
the car is basicly a manual, all gears selected manually, the pump (with cotroller) is just your clucth pedal.
All the systems in these cars seem very nasty..
