    Question beep

S9 firmware prior to may 24,2011 had a signal beep function to help with dish aiming. In the lnb power menu the option appears.By default it was turned off.I couldn't get it to work on my s10,maybe somebody with a real S9 could try it and report back. The function really comes in handy for aiming fixed dishes when used in conjunction with wireless headphones,if it works.

on other brands on the antenna setup screen or any screen that has a signal strength/quality indicator you will hear a beep or tone that changes as the readings get higher. Some will beep faster, others will increase the frequency.I get no audio output at all. Some say this feature never worked on the S9 and was phased out in later firmwares.A lot depends on the tuner installed I think. With old firmware from the beginning of 2011 the tuner doesn't even work on the s10 with s9 firmware installed.
