Default R4 Card stuck at Loading..... Pls Help

I have spend all day on this lovely forum but seem to have a unique problem with my card

I have a R4 Revolution for DS (NDSL/NDS) card and a 1gb nokia micro sd card.
I have formatted the sd card using FAT16 on my computer
and the SD format software found in the download section on this forum
I then copied Wood 1.41 files onto it and a simple game.
I placed my card into the DS Lite but gets Loading ... and then it hangs.
I then formatter and copied the English 1.18 onto it but get the same loading... screen
I then tried v1.29b and this has the same problem.

Feel like throwing it away ... anyone got any advice on gettting this working?

there is a switch on micro-sd adapters that controls write protect to miceosd cards.
maybe you have switched it on..

Ive formatted with Fat32 and put on English 1.18 but still get black screen with the words loading...

My card is second hand, so no box im afraid, it use to work previously in a DS Lite, but the owner upgraded and sold the card to me (no idea about the ds lite)

It is dark grey with a plain back (no words or stickers)

    The front has the words
    R4 Revolution for DS (NSDL/NDS)
It is smooth so I guess it is a genuine card

    What next?

format sd card (again!, yes i know)

    downlod latest woods firmware
    Digital Kaos - Downloads - woods 1.40b

extract and copy file/folfer to root of sd card.

add a few older roms and trst in a dslite if possible..

This didn't work either, feel like hitting head against brick wall, I have tested the card in both a DS Lite and a original DS both say loading....

    Default Its still not working!

Um - do you think it is worth getting a different micro card, maybe a 2gb one to test with?
or does anyone have any idea how to get my combination of r4 and micro (see OP post) working?

if your computer reads your sd card ok then i doubt that would help.

only thing i can think of is that you are not put the file on right.

you have to copy the "rpg" folder and "dsmenu" file to root of sd card...

eextract both these files to root of sd card check..

    __rpg.rar
    _DS_MENU.rar

I'm sure that is what I did but will try again, I also put a game into the root directory as well, but will try without any games to see if it loads.

    I have just ordered a new R4 card and 2GB micro from R4i-gold R4i Gold 3DS | R4i Gold 1.4.3 | R4 3DS Card | R4 3DS UK

I shall see what happens with this, the card was cheaper than I thought even with the P&P

So hopefully in 8 days I shall be all working.

Thank you for all your help - I'll post back with the results.

While I'm waiting for my delivery I was given a 2gm micro card to try so I formatted it with the SD formatter program. Extracted the folder and file into the root of the micro.

But I still get the same error "loading..."

    Worth a try I suppose.
