Default How can I use my Sky subscription in my DM 800 HD?

I have a old style Panasonic Sky Digibox (No HD, or Modem input), with a subscription to sky until december.

How can I use my sky card in my DM 800 HD?

I read on this post, that the box posts back to sky through the modem, But seeing as I dont have a connection to the modem from my sky box, I dont have to worry about this right?

    http://www.digital-kaos.co.uk/forums...m800hd-100327/

I would like to remove my Sky box completely and use the Sky card in my dreambox to decrypt the channels that I have paid for.

So Its impossible for sky to know I'm doing this right?, seeing as I don't have a modem connection.

Is this ok, will I get charged for 2 subs, or will the card break doing this in a clone DM 800 HD?

No you can use it in the DM800 either by using an Oscam & CCcam config or if your not bothered about clearing PickTv channel then just use CCcam on its own. You just need your boxkey from your current sky box for this to work.

    Still no joy.

I installed CCcam 2.2.1 on my 800 Clone.
I edited the CCcam.cfg with this:

    BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 7digithex

Inserted my card, activated CCcam, and restarted the box.

    But it doesnt work.

    What am I doing wrong?

    oops..

But how come when I convert my 10 digit serial number (after removing the first 2 zeros), (now its 8 digits), I get a 7 digit hexadecimal number?

    Example: (Not my real serial)
    My Serial: 0023780993
    Hexadecimal: 1C644BF

Do I have to add a 0 to the front or something?

This didnt work either. What am I doing wrong?
    Here is step by step:

    1. Sky box Menu > 10 Digit Serial number
    2. Remove the first 2 `0's` from the SN.
    3. Use windows calculator to convert the (now) 8 digits, into a 7 Digit Hexadecimal.
    4. Put a `0` in front of the 7 digit hexadecimal to make it 8 digits.
    5. Install CCCam 2.2.1 full
    5. Put the line `BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 0H3XD3CI` (Not my real hexadecimal), Into CCCam.cfg.
    6. Insert my Sky Card, activate CCcam, & Full reboot the box (not just enigma)

But still does not work. What am I missing in the above steps?

Yes I did remove the line comment, There is no `#` Anywhere within the file, I deleted everything in CCcam.cfg and put in the line as above, without commenting out any lines.

    Still no luck..

I don't know much about the Dreambox but this is the instruction I followed when I had a card

on sky box go to Services
    on the options select Settings
    Down button and select Details
this will show your 10 digit serial number
take the 10 numbers and convert them to hex
(if it begins with any zero's these will obviously not go into calc)
this will give an eight digit number
(if less than eight then put zero's in front to make it eight)
    this number is your boxkey

Use Dreambox Control Center to connect to dreambox and click on ftp
then open the etc folder and right click on cccam config file
then scroll down until you see the boxkey (line 317 I think)
and delete the # symbol and replace the last 8 digits with
    your boxkey.

I seem to have a similar problem with my DVB800HD

I have a card with a full subscription (borrowed from a friend) and his 10 digit box serial number

I've created the 8 digit hex key and altered the boxkey line in CCcam.cfg to read (including deleting the #)

BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 ww xx yy zz

    I've also tried

    BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 wwxxyyzz

    Any suggestions?

    thanks

    this is how my line is BOXKEY: /dev/sci0 22 2X 2X 22

then you should activate the cccam and restart the box. that should clear the channels

    yep done all that.

Is there any way of telling that the box is reading the card and that the card is valid?

    thanks
