is it just a case of doing a factory reset on router and starting from scratch ?

have searched net cant find any tuts on how to change them over.

If it's anything like the netgear DG38 we have, you just type
192.168.0.1 in your address bar, username and password are usually admin/admin or admin/password or whatever you have changed it to, then select wireless settings, scroll down to security options, select wpa put in a pass code, ie, digitalkaos or something that means something to you, press save and then thats you.
When you switch on any of your other wireless notebooks etc, it will ask for the pass key, enter what you have just written in the router.
