    Default Blade Should i Update..?

Hi i have a Blade7000 and i have backed up the channel list and backed up the CSinfo.txt, then checked my firmware and it says.

    Sept 6 20117d*

I reckon it's old, so with the stuff i've backed up am i safe to upgrade the firmware then can i just copy the CDNF and CSInfo.TXT files back and all will be fine..?

Whats the benefit, does the 7dayEPG work better..? i'm not too bothered about youtube, and are there any other benefits...?

    Thanks for any info.

there are always benefits in new patches , usually unseen as they update drivers or functionality , never mind any improvements they have made like adding bladestream or epg support etc

so yes I think you should do it , and all you do is place the new one on a stick , and upgrade the box , and no you wont lose the cfg or channels , but as you have them backed up you are ok anyway

its your choice , but I always update my boxes , sometimes not right away as I may wait and see if others are happy once theirs has been updated

but in the case of the blade every patch has always improved it , and I have used every one published for well over a year, and the first patches were appalling ! now they are great
