As long as its installed PROPERLY then you will be fine, these things are easier to install than folk would have you believe ...why not save the dosh ?

Dish size and location is what counts.
Badr 6 is almost impossible to get in UK and also 7w only the mena satellite.
If its AD sports you are after forget it.
?50 is super cheap for motorised install.

hotbird 9 i think you mean eurobird 9a you will pick this up and loads of other sats but the others you stated are very weak signals and would be wasting your time as manic says
?50 for a motorised install is very cheap.

Gotta agree ?50 would only just about cover some of my fuel costs, manic01 again spot on no chance of badr6 here in the UK you will get badr4 though. 7w Nilesat 101 depends on dish size 1m + and only Horizontal TP's late evening, 7.2w Atalantic bird you should get 24/7 on a 1m with an Inverto Black Ultra.

if you do get the ?50 deal and i am trying not too laugh here but please dont just let him align it for 0.8w and then do one, If your using an 80cm + dish size have him tweak it for 26e as well you should get the MBC's on there with an 80cm. (of course dependant on what components used).

That is exactly what happened when first I got my motorized dish 1.1m, the installer set it on 1W and put wrong USALS and checked 13e, 28e and 19e were working which will work anyway and he buggered off and I spent hours trying to sort other sats using diseq 1.2 because he installed the dish too high that I can't reach it!
I can get almost everything on east beam except badr4 and few on west beam 5w and 7.2w but not more because if I move the dish further to the west it will touch the water gutter, clever install !

Sorry to hear about your install Adam_UK, should really have called him back and got him to sort it out after all you paid for a service and that service is not what you asked for.

The Install for ?50 is good and is what i would say is a mates rate but i keep expecting the guy to come riding into town wearing a stetson.

take a look at red sticky section under required satellite dish size this will tell you what you should be able to recieve depending on size of dish you have.

Honestly mate after my experience with that guy I would advice any one that never look at cheap price, get professional job even if it is expensive. By the way I paid that guy ?100 labor only so probably not that cheap I guess. I am not calling him back because he is limited of his knowledge and ability and I think he will never be able to do a better job.

For 4.8 and i presume you mean Viasat for reliable reception and to allow for some rain fade margin you will need at least a 1m, I have picked this up on 80cm but in heavy rainfall and especially here in the UK a 1m is advisable.

16e you can pick up on a 60cm and 13e all you need is an old sky dish but remember to factor in for rain fade margin.

7w not a chance in daylight your looking at a 2.4m + dish size for reliable daytime viewing, At night the Horizontal TP's will just about become visible on a 1m+ dish but obviously no good for your 3pm's.

Conclusion : Get a 1m minimum with an Inverto Black Ultra
