Default Adding Satellites and Foreign Channels

    Hi there!

Bought a Technomate 5402 in December and set it up at home in the UK and it works fine for UK channels.

Now I've brought it to Lanzarote where there's a huge fixed dish on the roof serving all the apartments and I can receive most UK channels during the daytime but evening reception is a bit flaky on some channels.

I used to use a very old Humax digital box here left by previous German owners which picked up some UK channels but also lots of German and some Spanish channels - TV and radio.

My technomate doesn't seem to receive any foreign channels at all? I recognise the channels names in the channel lists but even if there is high reception indicated by the green circle of 70% + it still says no audio /video?

Is there something I'm missing about the set up? I've tried both the blind search - 8400 channels found - and advance search and inputting extra transponder frequencies.

Do I need to add extra satellites for this location and if so how do I do that?

Has anyone got a more detailed guide for this STB designed for newbies like me ?

Great site but I'm struggling to find threads that cover the basics

    Cheers

Sorry about the longest thread in the world!

Wow! think this reply may have more questions than answers.
Do you know what sat the huge dish is pointing at, my guess is 19.2 German and spanish channels.
28.2 is 99% Uk, no German or spanish.
8400 channels is a hell of a lot of channels for a fixed dish, a dish with multiple LNBs would have to be massive at that location to include 28.2.
May be any number of mutiples between 13-16-19-23.5.
My best guess is there are more dishes then just the huge one.
These will be pointing at 13 degrees 19 degrees or 30 degrees west, your area is covered by all 3 sat footprints, these could al be connected using multi switches.
On the Techno box I think you go to motorised setting-DiSEqc Motor and turn it to off, then select each indvidual sat to blind scan.
I would have thought the majority of channels would be encrypted.
You really ought to find out exactly what is on the roof and where its pointing.
