    Default Renault 1.5dci Delphi - help me find a supplier for the wrong component!

    Hi Guys,

    I'm working on a Renault Thalia 1.5dci K9K700 with a Delphi ECU.

    On the ECU PCB a 5V low-drop fixed voltage regulator is faulty. The following is written on it:

    S0408
    4264G



    I found the datasheet for it here: http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/data.../318363_DS.pdf

    But I can not find a replacement part anywhere... Is there an alternative for this component? As I don't want to replace the whole ECU, as only this thing is faulty!

    And I write down what the problem was, to help others if they stumble upon a similar fault.

    So, the client called me around a month ago that the car had suddenly stopped. The glow plug and coolant temperature light was steady on the dashboard. He had to wait two hours, and the lamps extinguished and the car started. As this happened far from me, I was only able to read out the fault code stored in the memory.
    It was DEF127 with CAN-Clip, and P100F with an universal equipment, both reading "Engine sensors current supply" All the live data were correct.

    He then drove away, and around a week later the same happened. This time I went to check the car, and again the same fault DEF127, but as soon as I arrived the car started again... pfff... So we moved it to my garage where I used it for a whole week and it did not produce the fault.

    These were repeated 2-3 times (with more and more shorter periods inbetween the engine cut outs), but it was really hard to trace anything, as the car was running OK.

    Last time he called me the car did not start when I arrived! HURRAY! (again glow plug and coolant temperature light on, and DEF127). I noticed that all the live data are correct, expect the common rail pressure, which is 2000bar, and the sensor showing 4.84V!!! - no wonder the ECU did not allow the engine to start!

    At the sensor's plug we measured that the +5V live feed is around 2.8V, but sometimes it jumped up to 5V - when it happened those two lights went out -. And sometimes it stayed at 5V for over hours!!!! Then suddenly jumped down to 2.8V. So it was just like there was a continuity problem in a wire.
    So we started checking the wiring harness, the sensor connector, earth points and nearly everything, but did not find a single fault.

    Then we traced back the rail pressure sensor's pin to the components on the ECU PCB (for this the ECU case had to be cut apart - what an idiot design!!) and found that the same voltage appears on a small component, which is the 4264G.

    On one pin I measured +12V, on the other GND, and on the third the voltage fluctuated from 2.8 to 5V. I lifted this pin, and this clearly showed that this component makes the constant 5V for the rail sensor, but in this case this fails to do so!

    Also, this component was pretty warm, the whole PCB around 12?, and this reading 39?C.

    this is 5 volt regulator,you can use any 5v regulator with input-ground-output, configuration,this figure is not common,use different figure,search for lm7805 or 7805 base number.

    I found the replacement part which has the appropriate pinout.

    NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR|LM340MP-5.0|V REG +5.0V, SMD, SOT-223-3, 340 | Farnell Magyarorsz?g

    And it works great in the car!
