DM800 HD PVR n00b questions.

Hmmm. Update.

Just popped the hood and it looks like i have a clone after all.

How ever i have a dreambox hologram on the box and the modem looks geninue and so does the screws and the hood. But there is a cpu cooler installed and it says DM800 REV on the board.

Well its not the end of the world..

Any roms you can recommend i have SIM 2.01 and ssl 75.

I will have a little chat with my friend about this.

please help i have tried to flash many images and all just says "Bad image or old version"

should i use a program instead of just the web interfaces to flash ?

I would like to use dreamboxuk or OpenPLi image could you guys please point me to a woking image which is up to date ?

Ok pall, I checked all as you are on that wiki site Differences from DM800 HD PVR to Cloneboxes - Gemini-Wiki
and I have to say that I seem to have original box since all external look alikes are as said in the link. Bought new Tuner for DM 800 HD sim 2.01 and hoping to get some significant signal improvement as said in Satlover forum.

As I see in your earlier posts, you tried to flash secondstage-dm7020-84.nfi into your DM800 box so it's no wonder at all it didn't passed.
Here: Thank you for your interest in Dreambox Update you will se that DM says that QUOTE:

"05 September 2011 - Improved flash error correction
Starting today, images for the models DM500HD, DM800 SE and DM800HD PVR include an improved flash error correction feature.
In order to benefit from the improvements, it is required that you either flash the new image with the latest version of DreamUP (V1.3.3.9) or flash a new second stage loader ( DM500HD DM800HD PVR DM800 SE &nbsp before flashing the image via your browser or other means."

If you click DM800 HD PVR you'll get secondstage-dm800-84.nfi downloaded and should be able to update your box with newest bootloader that will enable you to istall newest Newenigma, Oozoon, CVS images etc.
BUT, as written there, "it is required that you either flash the new image with the latest version of DreamUP (V1.3.3.9)"
so you could benefit from all the improvements of those bootloader and images as well.

If in the other hand your box is not HD PVR, but DM800 SE!?
Then, you'll just download bootloader for SE version and you're GO again.

So do the stuff and report it back to us here!!! M8

thanks all, due to your help i have been able to flash SSL 84 and install the latest newnigma .

most are clones have a good look around there is a fix ...clones are exactly what the original are do the same stuff good luck mate
