Default Vonet wifi bridge & VU+ problems

HI guys, i hope somebody can help me as i have been at this for hours, here's where I'm at:

I have my router upstairs (Cisco EPC2425) and my VU+ duo downstairs.

I purchased a Vonet Wifi bridge and paired it to my wireless network and tested it on a laptop and it works fine.

When I connect the Vonet wifi bridge to my VU+ the light turns blue (as it should) but it in the network settings of the VU+...... IP, Netmask & gateway display "N/A", the primary and secondary DNS are displayed though.

I have DHCP enabled on the vu+ and also tried manually assigning the VU+ an IP but that didnt work

I'm running Vix 2.3 on the box.

When i brought the Vu+ box upstairs and connected directly to my router via an ehternet cable, it was given an IP straight away and connected immediately.

I also know that the vonet wifi bridge is configured correctly because I have tested it on my laptop.

But it seems the vonet wifi bridge and the vu+ wont play nice together.

    Any ideas guys?

I read somewhere you can turn LAN & WAN on, on the vu+? how do i do this?

    Any help ideas appreciated guys

I really hope i dont have to start drilling holes in my ceiling :0

    Thanks in advance

    Alan

Alan I dont think the vu puts out enough power
to run the bridge on its own, I had probs with the same setup,
mines connected no probs etc, but after a few days my power supply mysteriously
blew up, cant say for sure this was the cause of it,
but just seemed a bit steange, so if using them
use a power supply with it.
Im sure you have to use the bottom usb ?,
maybe talking $ hite but sure I read that somewhere.
Have a look in menu, might be an option ti supply usb ports
with more voltage, not sure about that either.
Best bet is homeplugs m8, or get the official vu dongle that works
    out the box.
