Default Audi A4 oil level sensor G266

    Hello dear DK mates,
Did anybody know how works the oil level sensor G266 on Audi A4 B5 2000y,which impulses this sensor sending to the dash panel insert? Is it possible to trick dash panel using resistors and etc?(simulate a sensor like everything is OK using resistors or other electronic components)
It is necessary to force switch off warning lamp in the dash panel

Do you realy want to run the risk of low oil pressure being undetected? That will destroy the engine.

What's the exact fault code (with number if possible)?

I would think fault code would be 00562 oil level sensor. I had a VW california van in on Monday with the same fault, just stick a new one in, as oldford said it may save your expensive engine

Thank you for reply, but an Audi about which I am talking is not mine and haven't this sensor on the bottom of engine.Owner bought a car without oil level sensor.Might be the bottom was damaged in past, and new bottom was mounted without G266 .It is expensive to make this changes,so owner want eliminate this sensor, because of continues warning in the dash during drive

Whats the part no of the dash? You may be able to change the soft coding to tell it there is no sensor.

Its not an option on this cluster. Some clusters you can set for fixed servicing without level sensor.

This is wat i did yesterday by a Golf 4

Connect VAG-COM and go to Module 17 (17-Instruments), then to Recode-07.
For fixed interval, there 'xxx2x' stand.
    additional info: this is the kind of service interval;
xxx0x for fixed interval without sensors for oil level and temperature (QG0) Was 1 changed to 0 and gone is the faulty alert!
xxx1x for variable interval with probes for oil level and temperature (QG1)
xxx2x for fixed interval with probes for oil level and temperature (QG2)
xxx3x for cars without service interval indicator (USA and Canada) (QG3).

Note the numbers before you changed something .

It's impossible to make this change in the coding. This dash insert is 12 years old(2000y car)and I have permission to make 4,6 and 8 only! Like I wrote in 7 post.
    Thank you anyway

Special info from VAG in attachement .
Read it all and you understand how it works.
