In recent times i have a running battle reading this chip with my original Xprog in VW immobox, never got my clone to read it ever ditto my ETL too. I need someone to lead me on in using UPA-USB.

xprog clone sometimes read hc05 with errors but you can update to xprog box and it will read fine! see attachment for upa reading

Thats what am saying, it takes time to succeed nowadays. I will try the UPA solutions though they seem complex kinda now
